Manufacturers and Importers of batteries into the UK

Once the Battery Recycling Regulations are in force; as a battery manufacturer or importer of batteries to the UK (the Producer), you will be responsible for the cost of collection and recovery. If you have batteries made on your behalf and placed on the UK market in your name, then again, you are considered the Producer. BatteryBack is a unique service, open to all producers, ensuring costs are kept to a minimum. Currently, BatteryBack expect the cost to not exceed one pence per battery.
This cost will not apply until the Regulations are in force.

The final draft Regulations are expected to be published this coming October and be in force in early 2009.
